Solid Foundation for Rural Development (SORD) formerly known as Ophondweni Youth Development Initiative (OYDI) is a well-known organization for it passion for community development.

Established in 2000 during the ripe era of HIV & AIDS. Our footprints were just as they are now, felt and dearly missed. Our strength is leadership and quality management of programs and projects very much inspired by positive change with minimal resources injected into them. Additional to that, a motivated team led by an ever creative CEO who is also the founder of the SORD.

What We Do

Mental Healthcare Services

Community Campaign on mental illness.

Identification and case work by Multi-Disciplinary Team (Psychiatric Nurse, Registered Counsellors and Social Workers.
Strengthening Health facilities to respond effectively to mental health care service in accordance to legislations.

Drugs & Substance Abuse

We campaign against substance abuse.

Prevention services rendered in 43 schools, Communities, Churches Traditional Local authorities etc.In the Jozini and Mhlabuyalingana Local Municipalities
Established and ensure functionality of Local Drugs Acion Committee in four Local Municipality.

We empower victims of abuse.

Prevention service against domestic violence.
Human trafficking awareness.
